NO! No one wants to play a game with random mechanics like that horrible game known as tetramaster. Please tell me that you just got the name wrong and was talking about triple triad (the real card game from VIII, not tetramaster).
Triple Triad all the way. Would spend hours in FFVIII just playing that/collecting cards.
