THERE IS A BUG. After paying more attention to what was going on after seeing your post I have found a bug. Many, MANY times when the tank runs into an enemy group all but the initial target go straight for my fairy even if she is on Standby mode and has not done ANYTHING other than being adorable. For some odd reason the Fairies have immediate hate. This has cause some issues with positioning at the start of battles and might be causing some of your issues.
