And in essence it makes sense to have to back track to get ores, which is what i suggest they do in the same regard to zinc. I'm sorry but something i got an over-abundance of in grade 2 should not be equally abundant, necessarily even there, in grade 5...our current highest grade.
I know you can get plenty from low level areas, but the original quote was talking about zinc at grade 5, I just meant that you get tons of zinc there but no copper making the zinc useless. similarly with gold sand when you stop getting silver sand.
And as mentioned if you are going to go back to grade 2 where you are goign to get even more zinc, you might as well make the zinc less available grade 5. I have always had an over abundance of zinc compared to copper
Did you try setting the gauge at different levels? If you mine on each notch for long periods of time you'll find certain items become less or more abundant. You can solve the too much zinc problem if you figure it out. In grade 5 grid I get primarily silver, gold, and iron. For me zinc in LL areas didn't pop up until grade 4 and is still rare as gemstones at iron lake. Am I lucky? Maybe...
Doesn't matter what notch i have it on, i end up getting a crapton of zinc. LL is my safe-haven from zinc...ul'dah and gridania hate me and plague me with it.
i always aim for either gold or mythril for obvious reasons
i currently just run around all crazy like with 2 stacks of NQ gold ore in my bazaar...just holding on to it of course.
