Festivals: We have city states, but every festival is a world wide event.

The three city-states are so near each other, their cultures are rather similar. Not surprising if they all have the same seasonal events.

I also don't want SE working on three different seasonal events for every season.

They're doing a good job of tying the current event into the game's lore. The whole 12 eggs thing has me speculating a lot of different possible outcomes for this event. Can't help but wonder if they've somehow tied this event into the game beyond just fun for Easter, which would be really cool.

It's a matter of convenience. Simple as that.

Having all 3 cities celebreate makes it easier to do the event content. I wouldn't want to travel all over just to do events.
