Not sure why you got booted, but it probably wasn't an AFK boot.

The entire system is scheduled to be fixed early next week. The hardware is already in place, and software is being installed and tested. That petition is just another pointless thread clogging the forums.

You're more than welcome to pay for his subscription. Till then players can (and will) play how they see fit. Name calling is quite silly. I'd almost bet money if they fixed queues where people could at least log on and go afk while waiting, it would be better. The problem isn't anyone's fault but SE's and to think otherwise is kind of screwed up.

No worries, I actually agree with you.
As I stated in an earlier reply it was only once during Early Access and that was because it was the first time I was able to play after waiting and trying for like 2 days to get in and by that time I was falling asleep at my computer.
While I did it that one time, I don't actually condone it and won't be doing it again.

...Excitedly i turn my monitor back on after work ... and the opening Cinematic is playing. it does have an AFK boot guys & gals. It might be a good hour or two i don't know.

Uhm i didn't bash them, i said they beat me online during early afternoon hours...? As a matter of fact I am poor, handicapped (Epileptic, and yes playing FFXIV is a death sentence if i miss my medicine) and poor $33,000/year gross. And i read about server maintenance after my post and became sad again. My fiance doesn't understand why i am upset :(

I'm starting to wonder who the douche is again... Again, they pay to play the same game you do, they can log in, off, and do what they please in game and it's against no rules. I agree that if you're sleeping/at work etc you should log, but calling someone a name, because SE dropped the ball? Really? Lol

I mean, I disagree with their little rant about pay wages, and the like, like they are all high and mighty is completely BS - the fact of the matter is, the problem is servers.

There are bots, and gold sellers in game, my last concern is a legit player staying on game while they go grab something to eat or whatever for a couple hours etc so they don't have to wait hours on end to log back in. I think folks need to get their priorities right on what the real problem is right now. AFK fixes would do nothing right now.

I'm beginning to agree with you here, AFK boots would probably just be snatched up by the next available bot that is spamming the log-in button millions of times faster than a human can. Though it is hard to believe that people are willingly paying for these accounts only to know they will be banned at some point. It would be nice if there was a "report bot" option in the game instead of using the report harassment option as that really isnt the same, at least not to me.

Sadly, I am truly at the point where I am going to say "Screw it" and keep my character logged in so I can play when I want to instead of waiting for 3-4 hours after I want to in order to actually get into the game.

I agree with you Sez. If I know I'm going to be offline for a while, sleeping, away from the house etc I log off because I do know there are other folks that do want to play. But if I know I'm going to be back on in just a couple of hours, nah, I leave my game running. I'd come back and spend another 2 hours or more trying to log in.

Like I said I don't condone days of AFKing, but I think people really are overdoing it on the whole "Grab your pitch forks we got some afkers to burn!" mentality. Every time you come across someone that is flagged as AFK, does not mean they have been AFK for an entire day. I actually really like that I can leave, and come back in 30 minutes without having to log in and go through all the mess again.

Oh by the way Sez, there is a cheating option via the in game support, that would probably fit the bill for bots a little more. Though I would love to be able to right click someones name and report that way to make it a little faster.
