I've enjoyed the written dialogue so far, a lot of it is pretty funny. I imagine a voice over would ruin it for me though considering they managed to make Raubahn (sp?) sound so ridiculous with his 'I'm angry and growling all the time grrr!' voice.

english v/o is pretty bad so I don't know why you'd want more. I think it's fine as it is.
I don't know why people keep complaining that all quest dialogue needs to be voice acted. This is silly really. Most MMOs don't do this. For instance take a look at TERA or even WoW. When you run up to a quest giver, you get a wall of text explaining who they are/what they need/what happened. However, FFXIV instead of giving you a wall of text, actually plays out the quest text through interactive cut scenes and dialogue bubbles. I would never expect them to voice act more than they have already... and I most definitely prefer interactive cut scenes to just simple windows full of text and rewards.
I would love to have voice acting on everything to make it more enjoyable, but the way it is now is also fine (mostly text, and a couple of voice acting in certain cutscenes). A lot of games that I grew up in and loved did not have voice acting anyway :)
Can't and won't be done.
You can't just "add voice acting". If you've ever programmed something before, you have to realize that adding features like this takes a long time. Localization takes a long time. Not to mention that if they did this, they'd need to find at least 3 other equivalents (Japanese, German, and French) to match. This isn't a "community involvement" thing.
Actually it's pretty hard to add voice acting... and expensive.
It's not exactly basic programming(ie IF statements, Loops, ect.) It's super expensive, Hire actors for, how many languages does this game cover?!
yea it's not a simple task for an MMO to do.
It's not a massive problem for me and I wouldn't say it's "killing" the game, but I would like to see at least the main quest fully voice-acted. It is a bit strange having only certain characters - like at one point in a cutscene suddenly voice acting appeared! I'd say either go all-out or not at all. Personally mind I think the shitty textures ruin the cutscenes far more than the lack of voice acting. "hey look at my giant sword all close-up, I call it Pixel."
