to the point of wanting a refund.

My friends and I have decided that if this isn't fixed by the end of next week we are going to be asking for our money back. The fact that we couldn't get into the same server as our friends was fine, we just moved to a smaller server. Some of us had trouble getting in during peak hours, still fine because eventually we managed to get in (half an hour). Now there's this, we're in release and we can't get onto Faerie, one of the lower populated servers, during non peak hours. That is unacceptable right there when you aren't in peak hours and people still can't get in. I have tried for about three hours now (I error'd out and haven't been able to get back in since) and we have more people who are going to be off work soon. Frankly, I don't expect any MMO release to be smooth. I've played enough to know it won't be perfect and that there will be quirks. However they could have had a longer Open Beta or pushed off release until they fixed the issue knowing that it would be worse on release. I do not pay (twice) to play the "click to get a Server is Full!" message.

It wouldn't be so bad if we had a queue. Then I could actually go do other things. As it is, a bunch of us are simply trying a few times and then not wanting to play at all. This is SE's second chance - they are already getting bad press because of this. They won't be able to recover if FFXIV fails again.

we are still playing it free, not paying it, and by the way i can't log in as well because of the 1017 error
p.s. lets just hope they will fix this issue by friday shall we? if they don't fix it than some will rage quit some wont world continues.

Oh really? If I recall I purchased the game. The month might be free but SE's decisions and communication over the next few days will absolutely determine if they keep customers or not. They've been having capacity issues since Saturday (4 days), more than enough time to have new servers overnighted and installed.

Veery good post, yet so true. I have tried sever low pop servers in order to play with my friends and have gotten the same result! SE really has to fix this soon because i cant see everyone sticking around much longer.

We are not playing for "free" we paid to get that first month of game time, which most of us are not able to enjoy.

Not true. They have taken my money, and i can guarantee you this, they don't fix this soon, i'll be getting that money back and will never spend a penny on their company again. They've already gotten two faulty games worth out of me, enough is enough.

One solution for all hardcore fan and gamer of FF: Maybe they can give FREE a new title from the next FF that will exit to apologize to us! XD

Me and my friends on Moogle have had no problems bar the duty finder not working and a couple of times where we had to hammer the login screen to get in. It's a shame this is happening, but it isn't affecting absolutely everyone on the servers.
