Some of us had trouble getting in during peak hours, still fine because eventually we managed to get in (half an hour). Now there's this, we're in release and we can't get onto Faerie, one of the lower populated servers, during non peak hours. That is unacceptable right there when you aren't in peak hours and people still can't get in. I have tried for about three hours now (I error'd out and haven't been able to get back in since) and we have more people who are going to be off work soon. Frankly, I don't expect any MMO release to be smooth. I've played enough to know it won't be perfect and that there will be quirks. However they could have had a longer Open Beta or pushed off release until they fixed the issue knowing that it would be worse on release. I do not pay (twice) to play the "click to get a Server is Full!" message.
It wouldn't be so bad if we had a queue. Then I could actually go do other things. As it is, a bunch of us are simply trying a few times and then not wanting to play at all. This is SE's second chance - they are already getting bad press because of this. They won't be able to recover if FFXIV fails again.
