I have one on JP servers. on Tiamat.
Actually it is 50 servers for the world :P, half are here, half are there.
I got no problems with latecy either. No sudden disconnections, Dodging attacks, completeing dungeons as tank (cept wanderers palace, that place is a *$@*$). They just about fixed the real latency issue, which was their coding.
haha ya cause tonberry is popular new server :p. was having alot of fun and such. alot mix group of people in masamune too. felt so international XD.
I'm on Gungnir. Won't be playing till official launch but I'm a v1.0 with most jobs half leveled. would be nice to play with some other English players at least until I can transfer to Balmung to join the rest of my ls.
Well, JP servers are filled with asian/oceanic players, just like me :)
Yea , but like one poster said" if we all go to the japanese servers. There will be a bigger mess". I created account on one the servers there check it out and ran find , but not everyone got great internet speeds. Plus there seem to be less people on maybe lag, When before the create character restricions created one on least popular NA/EU There were thousand running around still. Also since many join the game from all there legacy friends it hard to do that, at the moment and also since some people already got like 40 hrs in to there characters. It hard for them to start over. Also there is a lot of japanese players that went to the NA/EU side since some there NA/EA guilds there decided that were to play at for them.
Just because you can create a character there doesn't mean it's for the whole world. In WoW they had oceanic servers for most European contries but during NA maint we would infiltrate their servers, doesn't make them international. People will choose the one that better suites their location. 25 servers are in the Japan data center and 25 in US data center that hosts most if not all regions outside of Japan.
I don't like legacy servers but I have another toon in Ifrit just in case NA servers break down like what's happening now.
Well, Thats their prerogative. In 1.0, the servers were for the whole world even tho they were all in Japan. They didn't IP block new servers from anyone (except china and korea maybe), so they remain for the whole world even tho there are 2 data centers to choose from now.
But it is what it is. I know SE is mostly to blame for whats happening. They should have gotten a data center physically in the EU region instead of combining them. Japan data center certainly has a lot less players logged into it thats for sure. But then again if the players didn't have to have that extra 150-200ms..... :P
But I'm still laughing about it, because some peoples reason was merely to "Get away from JP players". Terrible reason, and I hope the ones with that reason were the ones stuck with 3012 or whatever it was :D
@ OP - one of the few occasion in my MMO history that I'm glad I'm an Oceania player, server-wise. :D
