Considering I'm getting sub 30 fps in some areas, on high no less, and score about 40% better on the benchmark with 2 cards enabled, I'll take my chances but thanks anyway.

Ugh..
Yes, I'm running it with 7870s thanks to the advice of Reika and a Beta forum thread detailing assistance with setting up a profile specifically for FFXIV in Catalyst. I believe the newest 13.8 beta driver has a sub profile for ARR now if I recall correctly. It isn't needed though, but then again, neither is crossfire/sli really depending on your GPU.
If you're getting sub 30fps on a 6870 you have more issues than your card my friend. What is your processor and RAM? I'm using a single GTX560ti and I'm getting 200fps+ on max. The only time I dip under 100 is in the massive fate zergs, even then most of the time I stay above 100 though. The 560Ti is a weaker card than a 6870, you should be getting better frame rates than me. I don't think your card is the issue here if your fps is that low. Possibly your CPU is bottlenecking or you just don't take good care of your PC and it's clogged with unneeded software.
Edit: Well I can't post anymore due to some daily limit crap.
You should be getting a HELL of alot more than 30fps with that system. There is something seriously wrong with your PC.
I run at 1080p, on max settings, and I easily stay above 200fps while solo and 100fps in large groups.
I've got a i7 4770, 8GB of Ram as well. I currently use a single 560ti, normally I use a Titan, but it's on RMA cause it blew up >.>
You should start looking into cleaning up your PC rather than adding more junk to it if you're only getting 30fps.
That's not true ... you do notice a huge difference at HIGH RESOLUTIONS. Above 1920x1080 you really notice a difference with crossfire. Below 1920x1080 you may actually get the same or less performance though.
For excessively high resolutions though, you're better off with a single Nvidia Titan as it has 6gb vram even if it's weaker than SLI cards.
200 fps on maximum at 1080p? yeah right. You must be running at low res.
And I've got an 8350 @ 4.8 and 8 gb of g.skill ram @ 1600 mhz
Oh AND I'm running it off a 128gb samsung SSD with only windows 7 on it and nothing else. All my other programs I run off a regular 7200 rpm hdd
Yes :D It is a damn nice card too, it's got the power of roughly two GTX 680s but since its a single GPU, it has none of the flaws or hiccups that SLI has.
And if I had $1000 to spare that I didn't give a F about I'd buy it. And maybe 2. Or 3. But yeah it's not the practical answer for most people. I'm using a AMD Eyefinity setup but I would totally switch back to Nvidia if I had $3k to spend on 3 titans.
He's just trolling. I have two AMD 7970s in Windows 8 with a Intel i7 980X and 16gb ram and I don't get anywhere near that. Maybe in the Inn ..... but I tell you he is sure as hell not getting that in Limsa.
When I play at 1920x1080p with my cards i'm getting close to 60 in town. + or -. Sometimes it can go up to 100 under the right conditions, but generally it averages 60s-100s. That's crossfire though on single monitor. If I go to Eyefinity mode it's WAY less.
Either way, he's just throwing #s at you. Might as well say he's got 5000 FPS.
Well whaddyaknow I loaded the new profile and now went from 25-30 in limsa to 45-50. Guess it does work. Thanks for that link to 13.8 beta2
