LOl omg I thought this too!! i was writing out the Live Letter for my LS's forum and when they said that I made a note on the post 'has SE been taking to the people who make pokemon, they are both coming out with fairy types!' LOL

The summons look cool, but what I find more interesting is the fact that we now have 3 book holders and 2 of each other weapon holding class. Sooooo are there other jobs they are keeping secret? Did they branch out and manage to keep it hidden from us or is there a plan to quickly implement others after launch. It seems kind of unbalanced right now to have so many jobs that can summon without adding anything else.

all jobs will eventually get a branch job.

i think if anything it will be like this
Gladiator> Paladin - Redmage
Marauder> Warrior - Dark Knight
Lancer > Dragoon - Templar (tank)
Bandit > Thief - Dancer
Pugilist > Monk - Ascetic(Tank)
Conjurer > Whitemage - Geomancer (nuker)
Thaumatrge > Blackmage - Time Mage
Archer > Bard - Ranger
Bucaneer (melee enfeebler) > Corsair (melee buffer) - Musketeer (ranged DPS)
Survivalist (high solo ability) > Blue Mage - Beast master

It makes sense to me how it was explained. Basically think of "Light/Dark Arts" from XI in pet form.

the marriage of sword shield white magic and black magic.

Gladiator being the only sword/shield base class, i think its spot on.
if you noticed, so far nobody has just jumped to a completely different weapon set.
Arn > SCH-SMN all use a book.

Mrd> War- both use an axe, a 2h scythe isnt a far throw away

oh and also yoshi P stated that while they wouldn't rule it out, they have no plans to introduce multiple weapon types for classes or jobs beyond the current wand/staves/mace/otherthingy selection.
