Don't forget that Cyclopses, Goblins and Qiqirn are ALSO in-game humanoids not yet officially affiliated with a primal.
Although based on lore hints, if any of the 4 species is a candidate for Shiva, the most likely is the Cyclopse.

My speculation would go something like this:
Sylph > Ramuh
Amaal'Ja > Ifrit
Kobold > Titan
Ixali > Garuda
Sahagin > Leviathan
Gigas > Shiva
Demon > Diabolos
Mamool Ja > Phoenix
Odin -> N/A
Bahamut -> possibly some dragon/drake Beastmen tribe or otherwise N/A
Oh, I would say:
Mandragora -> Fenrir :P
Maybe we will see Gnolls affiliated with Fenrir. Could also see Hades ruling over the undead.
I wonder if all these XI mobs will mean we will see XI antlions alongside XIV ants? It probably would work fairly well. Though i liked IX antlions... Ideally i'd be happy with XI antlions as the elite soldiers and IX antlions as queens/bosses of the nest.
If that's not a Sahagin then yeah. Interesting. Kobold, Qirin, Sahagin, Mamool Ja all on Vylbrand.
Could just be a placeholder mob, but... this is interesting. I speculated on, that other forum, that the mamool'ja could be an offshoot tribe from the amal'jaa, who are simillar in both name and appearance (both are a race of brutal lizard men with names ending in 'ja' and a prefix which is spoken near identically). Ironically there was precedent with this in FFXI - after all, remember the moblin race offshoot from the goblins? ;)
I really hope orcs don't appear in XIV though, as they were never entirely comfortable being in XI (I personally assumed it was simply because the Lord of the Rings films were released around the time of the game's original development and hence influenced the original team).
So yeah, personally I think these guys are an offshoot tribe from the amal'jaa (in which case, it stands to reason their Primal would still be Ifrit if that is indeed true).
That might be indeed, but if that's indeed La Noscea it'd be a big leap for a tribe to be in this area of La Noscea and then the other tribe live in the deserts of Paglath'an. Not just a Primal difference but an evolution difference. To me they look more like the ffxiv Sahagins than the hulking Amalj'aa.
