SE, do not punish 1.0 players who want to buy the physical CE

So pretty much if you have a none CE account and you buying the PC account to get the items ingame you have to pay 19.99 for the digital upgrade due to the fact that the PC code for the items is also a FFXIV account code. So the only way to get everything is buying the PS3 account because you can put that code under your PC version and get the ingame items.

This is what the OP is talking about.

Final Fantasy XIV PC CE Code:
The Code is a PC account and the the 4 items. You can't put other PC account under your PC account.

Final Fantasy XIV PS3 CE Code: Is a PS3 account code and the 4 items. You are allow to put a PS3 code under your PC account but only one.


The Code that come inside the box are both the account and the items. If they made two different code one for account and one for the items like 1.0 CE version. We would not be having this issue and this topic would have not been here. I think the reason they did this is so people buy the PS3 account lol so they make more money or maybe just something they fuck up on.

You CAN'T LINKED the CE CODE from ARR CE into your 1.0 Service Account. if you did it will register as a NEW SERVICE ACCOUNT "Final Fantasy XIV 1" & "Final Fantasy XIV 2"

This is just to avoid confusion for those who are using 1.0 Standard Account.

Those of you who are thinking of getting ARR:CE PC with a 1.0 Standard Account be warn that you wont be able to tie the ARR:CE Code to your 1.0 Standard account.

I understand the frustration. It sucks. And pretty dumb too. But we have found out 3 months in advance now. I don't know why ppl think they can't do anything about it. If you preordered the PC CE, cancel it. That's what I did. It was easy. Just because they had already given you a code doesn't mean you could use it yet and they can't cancel it. If your credit card has been charged already (which it shouldn't have been anyway) they will just refund to your card.

Then after you cancel you can go from there. I chose to go preorder PS3 CE, which I now have done via Amazon.

Should it have been this way? Definitely not. But you've got plenty of time to deal with it.

The whole point of this thread is to get SE to offer us a solution. I want both the physical and digital items. I've paid a lot of money for 1.0, subs and the ARR CE. There is no reason why I shouldn't get the items I have paid for other than SE's incompetence or disregard for their loyal customers.

All SE need to do is setup a page to convert a ARR CE code into digital CE upgrade. Or if they are too incompetent to do that then allow us to do it through SE support.

I didn't realize it was going to be a single code for everything. I'll have to try and cancel the order when I get home then.

Well this is concerning news. I bought the CE version but now I guess this is kind of useless. Honestly I would have no problem starting a new character if they just made things like the Goobbue mount tied to the account so I can use it on any of my characters. For that reason I won't be starting a new character.

cancel your PC order and get the PS3 version problem fix :)

A solution would be for them to allow "pre-orders" of the digital upgrade.
