I hadn't been to that site since before the 1.0 beta test... Damn, that was a long time ago. :I
I went there once in the 1.0 days... long loooong ago. Not sure if I care too much about it's "revival".
A lot of other Core members have gone to ffxivrealm.com, which also has quite a following.
Everytime i think of FFXIVcore I think of that guy who ran the site or something and sold beta keys for 1.0 for like 100 bucks but never gave people there keys. Or something along those lines... pretty lols.
Pretty lols indeed. One of the many reasons I ended up leaving, a lot of poor management going around combined with shady dealings. That's just from what we've seen. I'm sure there was a lot more conflict we aren't aware of.
That having been said, I'm pretty sure the individual you mentioned wasn't affiliated with FFXIVCore at the time of its closing, and I'm confident he isn't a part of the group on the enjin site. I feel there's a lot of potential for a new, strong community hub to come out of this and hope that others will try not to judge it based on where they're migrating from. If FFXIV can progress as it has since 1.0 launch, then I'm sure something good can come from the remnants of that site. Might all be for the best.
I simply stopped visiting it and any other FFXIV fansite due to the lodestone forums to be honest. It seemed like every FFXIV player only posted and checked this forum.
I didn't really care much about that beta scandal back in the day. I even remember said person making a youtube video to apologize to the people for letting his greed get the better hand of him. I did enjoy the core before lodestone forum became a thing.
