We spoke to the development team about your suggestions for jobs and new abilities for Disciples of Hand and Land classes; unfortunately they do not have any plans to implement anything like this. However, they are planning on adding new content in which these classes can participate.

Also, as was already pointed out in this thread, there are plans in the works to release AF-like armor, so stay tuned. :)
