Um.. summer release?

I don't think it's fair to compare the betas for 1.0 and ARR.

Comparing them is fine. They are the same game - FFXIV - though I suppose one could argue against that since ARR is an entire rebuild/reboot of 1.0 after that train wreck. Just semantics, though.

It's these silly topics that really aren't fair. Having concerns and disliking the direction ARR is taking is fine, but stating information that is flat out untrue in order to try and incite a panic is ridiculous.

I have to wonder if he played 1.0.
I did and it was nothing like the remade product before the game went down.
Comparing ARR to 1.0 is completely off the wall imo.
Totally new dev team, new engine, new.. pretty much everything from the ground up..
That line of thought is basically like saying every MMO is the same. ;)

What release date? They gave a season, which is not a release date.

Semantics aside, they said they would not release it before they were ready. If they are ready they will release it tomorrow, so I guess what I am saying is what is your point OP? You lie, post your comment from some other forum like it is a fact and want us to get up in arms that they feel the game is near ready?

Why do I feel if they said summer '14 that you still would have made a post to complain?

"Only giving feedback about specific parts of the game" and "giving not honest feedback' are not anywhere near the same thing.

Also, unless some kind of cataclysmic disaster occurs during beta testing, I don't think a summer release is unrealistic. Keep in mind- they're already several months behind what they had originally planned in their original roadmap. To argue or suggest that they haven't been taking their time to get it right is crazy at best.

If you mean the 2.0 roadmap from October 2011, then yeah, it shows November 2012 for PC free trial start and PS3 closed beta start. If you mean the one they posted soon after the final event (posted Dec 2012), then SE is only one month behind, if Phase 3 starts the first week of June.

You realize of course the game was 1.0 then went to 2.0 right?
1.0 was basically beta..
The game came out and THM was soloing Dodore..
Getting XP was actually a challenge.
I was there for that, before that.

It's was easy to get all 50's after 2.0.
That doesn't mean you were there for 1.0

Amazing how you can respond with such a level headed tone and criticize mine..
