Eorzea Trade Association

So what happens to the contract fees? Are the roles paid? Or does all proceeds go toward's the president's new airship? :)

I love this whole aspect of the game (accountant irl^^) and would be happy to be involved on any level, but as an aside to my linkshell. I am tied therefore to my server, or whichever server the linkshell moves to, depending on what the hell happens.

It would make for a very good linkshell, and you could have them cross server. Social Media groups might be a good way to keep in contact with people and have a main hub site but that's just my 2 cents.

Super interested and I know some people over at Realm that would be to, keep us posted.

The contract fees go to linkshell operations. People that are finding the jobs for you, distributing them and running the operations behind the scenes to get you work. Also to linkshell assets that will be usable by the entire linkshell including materials needed for larger jobs and higher ticketed item requests.

This linkshell wouldn't be run like an endgame linkshell. We would be exactly that, a side linkshell that anyone that needs something crafted can contact.

Good to hear that people over at realm are interested! As far as a centralized site goes, I've had very limited experience in web design. That would probably have to be handled by someone more talented than myself.

I think we should start small with one or two servers (legacy and non legacy servers) and move up the chain as time goes on.

Afterthought: Social media and centralized sites could be used for notifying when orders have been completed.

That brings me to a good point. In no way is any Craftsman that takes part in this Association forced to refer them to a contractor. There are no limitations for someone who asks you to craft something and you are willing to do the work for them. If someone does NOT know a Craftsman, that's where our Association comes in. Think of our Association like a big referral program that you would pay for services that we provide. It's a win-win situation. You get your item in a timely fashion and our Craftsman get paid for their efforts. In no way is charity or free work condemned by the Association.

However, I would ask that if you are contacted by someone with a job FOR the Association, that you would then contact a Contract Manager.

Hai Cedri. Have you considered that it might be worth having a Gathering division of the Trade Association?

Not only for Association craftsppl, but also for independent craftsppl who might be tired of having to camp the AH for rarer mats. It wouldn't be limited to the three gathering classes, as DoM/DoW can happily farm drops (eg skins/shells, etc.).

Also, I had put the idea to my linkshell that I would happily run a materials bank for them, wherein materials that you would usually drop or NPC would be handed in for their NPC gil value and then could be distributed to members (I called it Quartermaster) for the same value. Obviously materials that were significantly higher value and sold rapidly on the AH wouldn't necessarily be part of this, but it can be useful to collate large amounts of detritus that crafters could use to level up with and wouldn't normally have the inclination to farm for themselves.

I like this idea, it certainly would reduce the headache for crafters if they could just leave a request for rare materials for a commission

I had considered it yes, I was gauging the interest in the Association with the community before continuing forward with that division. "Quartermasters" as you have coined would be a welcome Required Role.

This sounds very interesting to have, I hope there's a Sargatanas chapter so that I can give this a go.
