There needs to be more incentive to go Gridania and Limsa Lominsa

The reason I see is because the Weaver's guild is in Ul'dah. That results in a majority of the other crafters following them to keep their gear repaired. Then, various DoWs and DoMs follow. Eventually, Ul'dah is the place to be for anything. Even the leves are better than anywhere else, considering various R30s and R40s give up to 30k skill points if linked. Not to mention its the shortest walk between each camp, whereas in Gridania, each camp is twice as far as anywhere else.

Geographically, it's also the center of the world, so I suppose it makes sense that people converge on it. While this might be awesome for some people, it gimps the rest of the economy. New players tend to gain a bad impression of the entire game because there are only 5 Leatherworks and a Carpenter in Grid, and no one in LL talks while they're botting ARM and BSM. The market wards are for the most party empty because everyone sells their wares in Ul'dah.


This needs to be fixed somehow. People won't do anything without incentive.

I agree. I enjoy playing in those areas but noone else does so it hinders my enjoyment.

I really don't see an issue with Ul'Dah being populated, just the way the economy is set up really hurts new players who start in Grid/Limsa.

Hopefully when Yoshi-P said he was adding an Auction House he meant a linked economy so it doesn't matter what city you are in to buy stuff.

Ul'dah has most of the world economy on most servers, thanks to a special blue rock that happens to have legs and vast quantities of resources.

thats good point. I started my story in limsa, and than bah, i hand to go to uldah, than the consortium is in girdania ( and half of misions sends you there to talk to sylphs ). Also story invilves lot of interation wioth Empire , so more Girdania. One point i dislike doing anything there is the Black Shroud is like labyrynth. Its not fores, its labyrynth with forrest painted on its walls.
