Simply question about "Beta phase 1"

Also, the cap will be different this time.

I think we'll just have the Gridania classes since Grid only has the guilds for them. If we got all the classes they'd have to put in temporary NPCs just so that we could advance through the class. I personally don't mind. I'm content with CNJ, ARC, LNC, BTN, LTW, and CRP.

I'm pretty sure you can just buy a weapon equip it and gain exp.

From what a ls member told me, nope. You have to do a quest at the guild to unlock the class.

There could be a NPC named "Gladiators Guild representative"

Lets say he wants to hire some gladiators and gives you basic advice about the weaponry. After that the quest is finished and you're a gladiator. Easy as that.

Well, class quests sure. But does that mean Conj>whm, archer>bard, lancer>dragoon? Or are classes the base jobs? I don't remembers what base jobs are called, and what the advanced jobs are called.

Well, it seems that way that it will just be CNJ, LNC and ARC at the start for phase 1 again, but really, it's only for a few weeks - the other cities and classes will be available in the later phases so don't worry (plus, we'll have our 1.0 characters in phase 3 which is only a month or two away too ;)).

I was hoping to get to see all the classes in phase 1 - Its not the biggest deal in the world, since its not level 20 cap and its 35 then, and new stuff to try. But of all the jobs, conj is the only one I'd do of those 3 and care for. ~.~;;

That said, beta isn't for playing, its for testing. And testing I shall do!

If this is true, I may actually love SE more. I was rallying hard for arcanist to have a minor quest to get your first book/weapon. So to be fair, if they add that for /all/ of them.. I am all for it. (Nothing super hard, just a quest to get given the first weapon, and to join the guild/sort.)

I think this ^ is probably accurate for a few reasons. It's not as easy as just being able to equip the weapon anymore, I'm unable to elaborate just yet though, unfortuantely.

Ya never know, they may have things in place to allow the use of the other non-Gridanian classes until Uldah and Limsa is accessible.
