....dude, moving the market wards outside of the city of course you need an AH. I thought it was implied.

How is that implied? All I'm reading is an idea that is suggesting to flood non-instanced areas with more epic fail retainers. But I'll go one step further, how about instead of mini-wards... SE places Auction NPCs at the camps and aetherytes... and they can link them all.
People need to stop suggesting retarded ideas.
only epic fail is aution house. Unless they do it like WoW just more organized. Sorry but an auction isn't you buy it out right. It where you bid on things. And currently ffxi unless they do merge it don;t have longevity. since it requires player contribution. Like windurst ah on my cureent server is all but empty. I would have to travel to jeuno to update gear. This kinda stupid.
Hmm, that's strange. I find that the Auction Houses work just fine in FFXI... and this is going on 8 years :)
When the game had a healthy population, with a lot of new players, they didn't need to merge them. However, they are merging them in the next major update due to player population. Also, if you think an auction house is a place where you cannot buy things outright, you need to read more about them.
I'm trying really hard not to have an internet fight xD lol, but really A LOT of people want an AH and a sizeable chunk want to keep the market wards. Why couldn't we just have both and make the MW more interesting and useful? No need for name calling or calling someone elses idea stupid. What you said earlier was good kilta, about having all AHs connected.
Actually the only epic fail is the lack of imagination from this playerbase when it comes to thinking of these systems. There isn't only one kind of auction house. In fact, it doesn't even matter what you or I think of what an action house really is.
What most people want in these games is a system (call it whatever you want) that allows you to quickly and easily browse, buy, sell and trade wares with other players. Most of the times this system is called AH by the developers, and most of the times it's not a "true" AH. It doesn't matter as long as the system works, though.
The wards don't fully fit there yet (you can't accomplish the things I mentioned as quickly or easily) which is why so many people still want an "auction house".
There's going to be massive crying when things are done, however, because XI's model had flaws (price history was actually pretty bad for the economy), and I honestly doubt that'll be the kind of system we'll end up with. That's not necessarily a bad thing, however, and it doesn't mean we won't end up with an "auction house".
TLDR, people who actually mean "I want XI's auction house" rather than "I want a functional market system (based around an AH)" are going to be dissapointed.
Actually, how about both? My idea for wards outside of cities, for camps and outposts, but a AH or such for inside cities. It actually makes sense that cities would have amore complicated setup for buying and selling, where as camps and outposts would just simply be a bunch of people standing around, wether retainers or players.
