Personally I don't like death penalties. Also on a side note I don't think we ever "die" we get knocked out. So the penalties should be called KO penalties right? Perma death is silly IMO and not many ppl would play a game like it.

How about for every death, you log out for half an hour?
Gets you the same result, and it won't bother the rest of us.

Less that I like death penalties and more I can see a reason to have them. Don't think ARR will have them because the games they're basing it on don't. To me it's kind of an incentive to tread carefully and perform well. With exp being so easy to get in ARR it's not like you'd be suffering as it was in XI.
Between the ease of generally defeating monsters, the lack of difficulty even in instances and the exp (which I figure be easier to get in ARR despite some saying otherwise...) a death penalty would be pointless overall.
I just think if we die in game we should die in real life. Just sayin' /thread

You're right, of course. I never tackled any difficult content in 1.0 and hence haven't died yet. My excellent suggestion was made purely to benefit myself and screw over all those who actually play the game! I win!
