I doubt it seeing as any game related to Tactics actually takes place in Ivalice at some point in the timeline. This is going to be a fanservice game, so see many elements from all FFs coming in, for example we got the Crystal Tower but we can be assured that XIV isn't taking place in any point in III's timeline.
lol i think they know this already, but decide to use the basic one because of low cost, just improve upon.
Seriously i like the class/job system, i wish they have change the way we change our damn class thou...
like have an empty pendant(class), insert job crystal = wala job!

I much prefer switching weapons, job crystals is just way too anime for me. It fits fine in FF tactics but I definitely would not like it in ARR.
Plus we already have job stones, so adding another one for classes would just be awkward.

Job Crystals "too anime"? FFIII and FFV, the other job system FF games, gained jobs through Crystals >.>.

I was hoping it would end up being that each job had a unique weapon type, but I guess it was easier from a design perspective to make one item per job and lump it into a story they were already developing.
