Hoods?

Yoshi said in an early interview that he would try to make hoods raisable/lowerable when it was first asked.. and later on when the question surfaced again he said that it was too technically difficult to make hoods able to be raised and lowered. When players pointed out the WHM concept art with hoods up and down he said that it was just to show the modellers how it looked, and not representative of actual gameplay.

So no, I wouldn't expect this to happen. Hoods will be static.

How is it technically difficult? If it is too difficult then the default should always be hood down NOT hood up.

Probably because it would require two different models of everything with a hood (a hood up version and a hood down version). I don't know much about the technical specifics but that might have something to do with it.

And the default for the WHM robe IS hood down, so I'm not sure I follow on that last part. If you mean that all hoods on all gear should never be worn on the head well...why? A lot of people like the look. Mysterious cloaks, dark robes, etc.

In terms of playing black mage, why would you ever wear a cowl. You can put Intelligence materia into a hat and make it really damn good. With a cowl you lose the hat slot. You can't make the cowl as good as a hat.

So I think cowls should not be attached to the robe. It should be it's own item that can be attached to the robe, this way using a cowl is more plausible.

Cause sometime I do want to wear a hooded robe, but stats keep me from doing so.

Yea the thing is lot's hate hoods up, lot's hate hoods down, if it's possible they should do it so we have options. Also if people are concerned about cowls not being upgradable with separate hats, then crowns/tiaras/headbands etc. should be allowed to be worn with hoods(either up or down) and there you go, problem solved :D

i heard that sadly hood wont be allow to do this but mask and such would. So whm and such wont be allow to put there hood up and down sadly :(

Yea unfortunately I think I remember reading the same thing :'( WHM just always looked so bad ass with the hood, I can stand it down with that silver crown(made a rhyme :P), its ALWAYS been worn UP...ehhh :\
