I can certainly understand the OP concerns. I would want to show my friends impressive content/battles etc to lure them in. Unfortunately, that, imo, is not the intent of these videos. Instead, I think it is to show what an immersive world it has become and how it has changed. I can tell you, these videos, do not do the game justice. It really doesn't show how beautiful and immersive the game truly is.

no my friend, i know exactly the potential of the game, the problem is people dont, and that's why we need better videos to show them what SE is capable for.
I really appreciate what SE is doing for us to show us the alpha stage, but it's not a right thing to do for people that doesnt know the game.

There are people that donesnt know what alpha stage means, so... that's why we need better videos to show to the people.

In all fairness, if people don't know what an alpha is, then it is just ignorance on their end. Anyone who has an idea of what an alpha is knows that it shows the bare minimum of the game. Notice how SE has "Alpha" tagged all over the video. Now I do agree that the alpha itself has more potential to be exciting, but not to a large extent at all until beta comes around.

The reason the videos may seem boring to you is there only gridania is out 2 races, 3 jobs in the current alpha. Going to have to wait till beta before they show more it seems.

Well considering that the beta test hasn't started yet, I don't really think you know what the potential of the game is, no. They can't show you that potential if the content does not exist, or at least in any playable way.

Is this thread serious? I always thought this day would come...when the community who demanded gameplay videos and updates would go up in arms when they got the stuff they were demanding...

Seriously, it's an Alpha. Test. Stress tests and bug weeding. I wouldn't be surprised if there are no large man dungeons and serious raids until beta, and even then, that is still for testing purposes. You're asking for something completely absurd of an alpha test. This is not meant to be a fully playable build.

Or hey, should we be raging because the level cap is 20 and only two jobs are available? That's clearly indicative of the final release, right?! /sarcasm

These videos aren't meant to bring new people in. The videos are in response to the clamor for gameplay videos so that people can't rage "Why only CGI?!" and as part of the transparency policy the new dev team has adopted.

The sheer amount of stupidity in this topic is astounding.
