it would make sense that SE is making other class for 2.0 release just taking out one seem a little odd the FFXI always release from 2-3 so i see at least other class if not then w/e i don't really mind one day i get to play on samurai again :)
Im thinking the same thing OP. For one thing, yoshi has always said, as far as adding new classes, that he would have to add what is needed before what he would just want to add. If you look at the roles of all the current classes/ jobs, you'll notice one type is missing: a thf/nin type.
We have tanks, healers, magic and physical dd. We have buffers, and with the addition of arcanist/summoner we will also have a debuff specialist. It seems logical the next type to add would be a rouge/thief type. Musketeer could fill this role easily.
Another reason is if you are going to add a new class, you need to add them in 2's or 3's. If you don't (especially in this game where everyone has all or most classes to 50) youre gonna see waaaaaay yoo many arcanists running around. People that want to play it will play it. Combined with the people who play it just to have all classes capped its way too much.
Hopefully since beta starts soon we'll see. It wouldn't make sense to me not to be able to play any new classes during beta since they are going to need help balancing them. Here's to crossing my fingers for musketeer
I am into this.
It could happen, but I wouldn't get worked up expecting it.
If its Muskateer that leaves the interesting question of what job that class gets. Thief doesn't really work at least from a story stand point as it would seem Muskateers are honorable jobs (although certainly I could see a thief using a pistol instead of a dagger np). Same goes for Ninja then not working for many of the same reasons as thief. That leaves Rdm, which would be totally sweet if only to see the classic rdm af with a pistol instead of a sword, but again, thats a stretch. It leaves me VERY interested in finding out what job they eventually give that class whenever they decide to put it in the game. It really stikes me as THE class they could build a job off of we haven't seen before, maybe something that helps define XIV a little bit as its own FF. Again, a stretch I know, but its possible.
If they do another class for launch, amoung other things they could leave out, I could see them leaving it out of beta as a suprise. Even if we don't get a new class at launch besides Arc, I really DO hope they suprise us with stuff we don't get in beta. In the age of spoilers, I am counting on them to leave at least a few cards up their sleeve. Yoshi P doesnt strike me as the type that plays all his hand until he's ready :)
i see it also when 2.0 hits their will be arcanist everywhere, and parties will most likely have 5-6 acn in them just from the addition of the class. LL will be very packed from everyone being acn so hopefully 2.0 servers can handle it. And the reasons why their are going to be many acn around are:
1) all the ppl having every class at 50 will level it just to have it at 50
2) all the ppl who wanted to play it from the start and couldnt
3) all the ppl who are just curious and want to try it
4) all the newcomers to take into account that will play it
Now going along with what biggs said about musketeer being realeased with arcanist at 2.0 start will help balance the influx of everyone being on one class. but LL will still be packed and probably become the 2.0 verison of uldah from 1.0
I hope it to be so.. but i doubt it is going to be 2 new classes at relaunch.. unfortunatley..
