As others have mentioned, it might be turned off for ARR or simply that no one has title or linkshell.
Or, it can be turned off.

Another thing I've not seen anybody talk about, the actual possibility of proper flying mounts (not Ahriman). Along with swimming, this bothers me. Understandably corners have been cut in level design for areas we weren't supposed to see - for example there is just empty space behind rock faces. Could be piloted by one person from a birds eye view.

Would be more expensive than housing and very rare.

For boats, a giant seamless area doesn't seem impossible as there are very few details to be rendered on open seas beside the boats themselves. Only when you get closer to shore would you enter that specific zoned area.

Maybe the same with airships? The more likely thing is that they didn't built upon it yet and will face stupid restriction later when they'll want to. Hopefully, they thought about the future this time and left wide margins to add swimming/flying.

Definitely a must! There is just so much lore in the game and we already have the articles posted on the Lodestone. I'd be happy to read them in-game too.

Really? Hopefully I can remember my ancient login info if it's ever the case... and if it still exists, haha.

Its not gonna happen cus FFXIV isnt opened world game like skyrim or WoW. Even 1.0 in couldnt work. Game would need another resign.

In terms of flying mounts I'd settle for how current mounts work except you could go vertically about as high as the top of the trees. No crazy heights. The airships are another matter though, plus maybe they wouldn't go to such efforts for something only a few "1337" players would have the gil to experience (I'm not one of them), would certainly be cool though. I wonder how the airship ride will work (they said it won't just be a CS).
