SE Rep - can you share with us the criteria for selection of Alpha testers

I doubt that it is random lottery. The questions asked as part of the Alpha application are used by SE for some sort of screening. If it is pure lottery, then only Player's ID will be just enough.

You want this so you can just specify the answers they want to hear, it would be the same as asking for answers for exam questions at school.

The alpha isn't over, they will continue to add testers, therefore they cannot disclose this information, people can still apply if they haven't yet, so if they disclose the info now you could never get in... Think of that?

I've read in another post that SE will not disclose selection criteria. So no point to post to this thread anymore. Please do not reply anymore.

That being said, I am surprised no SE Rep has replied so far in the English forums. In the JP forums, there is also a rage/disappointment thread going on and there at least a rep has replied to some questions posted by fans.

And as I recall, in the application itself, it does not ask whether you were active or not.

The NA reps will not be at work yet, they live in LA, it's 6:43am there now. Do you get to work at 6:43am?

Or should they get a phone call at 4-5am "Help!!!! the community is crying and butthurt because they didn't get into alpha, great Bayhone/Camate/Rukkiri/Okipuit please come to the office at this stupid time to help us!!!"

When you want something you don't get it. When you don't want it you get it. Answers to all questions /end thread.

The point is that people who played few months (and I mean 1-2 month since release) are inside. No matter if they are active or inactive, it's just... silly. :|

I know of people that do, but it usually not the PR team. Coffee is needed.

Maybe they said they want to make the game better, not play early? There are loads of reasons for them getting in and not us, when did SE say "Only legacy members will be able to participate in the alpha tests?" as far as I know, never, therefore no one is entitled to participate.

If anything these people are the best for it because they quit due to the poor quality of the game, if the alpha and beta is an improvement on release they will come back, let's face it we are all going to come back either way, but the people who quit who have no attachment to the game will see the flaws that we could miss.

If they managed to apply then you got nothing to bitch about XD if SE didn't want those guys to apply they should have set a filtering on the application page
