Noobish materia question

Make Thousand Needles if you want something 41+ and cheap. I did just this to get my crown a week or so ago :). Cactaur Needle + Siltstone Whetstone.

My highest chance with an NQ materia and craftsman's whatever materia I was 42.5% on double, 36.5% on triple (broke). So if it was HQ, it would be 47.5% and 40.5%?

(with brass circlets, the worst materia only gave me a ~25% chance for double meld...)

Honestly the materia are more of a pain than the items... There isn't much of a percieved market for tier I materia in most cases, so nobody sells them- What little do they know....

Correct.

If you still have, or know someone who still has, guild marks, you can get a ton of tier-1 lowest-value easily.
