Am I the only one who thinks the Hildebrand stuff is stupid?

I wouldn't say stupid. It's really silly and that's what it's meant to be.
The whole Hildebrand story is good at what it does, give us a break from the
doom and gloom of whats going on. I wouldn't ever say what some people have
said, that he's the best character in the game. That is sooo untrue.

I dont like him either, I think this is the same over the top humor I hate when it comes to traditional American slapstick. I prefer more subtle or dry pan humor where the punch line is the irony of it other than the overtly 10 year old humor involved in over the top characters from any culture. I can see why people find him funny but meh, not for me.

Obviously not everyone is going to love the character like any game/movie/cartoon/book. Personally I enjoyed the stuff involving him.

We should get Hildibrand to figure out why this community is so terrible.

Overall i liked the story, though i love Carry On and python so..

It's called comic relief. Not everything in a game needs to be serious and gloomy, yanno?

Comic relief, pretty much by definition, is not for everyone, and not every kind will be appreciated by everyone.

Hildebrand's skit are very Japanese in nature, with elements like plastic poses, Manzai comedy and similar that are very rooted in Japanese comedy. So yeah, not every westerner (and mind you, not even every Japanese) will appreciate it. Doesn't make his presence less justified in the game.
