Seriously. Why would u want a duel wield with musketeer? U should be happy that stupid class like that will make it in this game. They should just go back to original name for this game "Rupture"because this is utter failure.

I think dual wield should be a passive trait to whatever classes/jobs get it.
For Musketeers, duel wield double or triple barrel guns and gun sheaths.
For Ninja, katana sheaths mounted on their back.
Samurai need katana sheaths for samurai skills.
Although I would enjoy either, my guess is that it will be more of the PUG/MNK type, where both weapons are grouped together in one item and the off-hand slot just becomes unusable. With the whole armory system, it makes more sense, since you only equip one item at a time, so after equipping one sword, you'd be a GLA, then when you equip another you change into another class? That just sounds a bit strange...
Of course, if they make it into a job instead, then it would make a lot more sense, since you would be a GLA that equips a Shield if you're a PLD and another sword if you're the other class.
As has been said before, we have a current working dual-wield class in Pugilist, which can be used as a basis for any dual-wield itemization, which leads to a whole new, distinct class of weapons, thus a unique base class. It just makes sense.
LOOOL! I hope that's an inside FFxi joke :P
This begs the question, "Where would the two extra knuckles go?" XD
You make some vilid points there in your question with the "armory concept".
Will duel-wield equipment be class exclusive, trait for class/job only or binding some new weapons to a class in pairs that multiple classes can use at required level.(?)
SE can take either direction pending on the expectations of expanding the armory system.
Personally, I would go with traits besides adding new weapons with duel-wield capabilities. That would be less confusing. Not to saying new weapons with "duel-wielding" would be a bad idea, this would make XIV adopt the equipment settings from Final Fantasy 3.
Everything would be duel-wielded, from staves to swords, etc.
Who knows for sure. Katana or Great Katana?
They did mention something about adding sheath but I'm not sure if it's going to be an off-hand equip. Great Katanas suppose to be a two-handed weapon with multiple stances.
Forget that man I want to know where the freaking greatswords are! you can't have a final fantasy without giant surfboard sized swords! but yeah for dual wield I think it would be awesome for a musketeer for instance to be able to have two different guns and not have them paired up like monk weapons.
Woooooooooah!!!! Chillax bro, such negativity =(
Buster Sword ftw!!!!
I'm hoping that they would take it in that direction. It would utilize the off hand slot other than it being used for shield or secondary DoL and DoH tools. Since Main Hand determines the class, then certain weapons could have off hand capabilities exclusive to a specific class/job.
I actually hope they make dual wielding a class trait. This way other classes could use it, but other jobs could not. This in turn might open up new ways to play classes, and get people playing both jobs and classes instead of just jobs. Its hard to think about right now though since we have no clue how they are changing the entire system for 2.0
Looking forward to seeing how its done
