Yeah, I'm very, very, very iffy on jumping myself. I personally don't feel that we need jumping at all, but it really depends on HOW jumping is going to be implemented, I'd REALLy like to see more info on this, because the term jumping could mean anything from an emote to actually being able to jump anywhere.
-
I'm against implementing it if we can't jump small gaps/etc.
-
Yeah, I would really accept the FFXIII auto-jump feature. In fact come to think about it that would be awesome. As for manual jumping like in WoW, no thanks.
-
i would like jumping if it could be incorporated into combat.
ex: jumping off a cliff, onto a monster and killing it
-
YES we DO NOT want jump in FFXIV!
Please Yoshi-P DON'T DO IT!
-
I'm for being able to use jump not to get stuck on a small cliff. So something similar to ffxiii or monster hunter when you can only jump when needed to. However I'm against being able to jump repeatably anywhere, anytime.
-
I don't think Jump should be an at-will action, like others have said. Something that just passively happens as you travel around Eorzea.
And really, not being able to jump up/down small cliffs is unrealistic to a point, where the rest of the character animations aim for realism.

Jumping in the game world being as it is seems quite useless. The world has been created with no jumping in mind, so there aren't really that many opportunities to make use of such function.
However, if the later game's areas are built around the fact that elevation changes are a-okay then I can see it being useful in the future.

A very resounding NO to jumping as in let's-press-this-button-a-dozen-times-bunny-hopping. FF13-style jumping though? I could live with that.

The jump feature is rather difficult to implement for many reasons (atmosphere, etc.) but i think the FF13 one could be a good way. Or also in some particular place to be used, ala Zelda, as well.
