Just for fun, imagine that that version of the Prelude played on the main title screen for A Realm Reborn. Now imagine that the title screen featured broad, sweeping vistas of several of the in-game areas (like the title screen for Final Fantasy XI does). The camera panning through the trees of Gridania, flying over the parched canyons of Thanalan, zooming across the grassy plains of La Noscea....

I don't know about you, but I think I'd just stare at it, catatonic.

That be awesome if they did that for FFXIV.. that always usually gets be ready to play FFXI was the title screen and how they showed off areas.

ahh gives a way better impression of the game now.


i like the new starter region.
oh and well.. the artworks of regions which he shows in the very beginning.. im really looking forward to see these ingame. we have not seen many areas (the most exciting) of the game yet.

The world looks very nice. The music is impressive. I do like the changes to Gathering, and look forward to messing around with crafting. However my main concern is still there. I absolutely 100% would like to see further improvements to the movement system. A character should not move to the left but be facing forward, or backpedal. There needs to be turning.

Not again this discussion.. but.. i think you can "backpedal" .. walk backwards in any MMorpg out of there. yes, you also can in real life. when playing badminton, tennis, fetching or what ever.
but lets see how it will be in the release version. and when we play it on our own.

but please no "movement flaming" in here. therefore we have an other thread ;O XD
hopefully SE can surprise us.

I'll wait until I get my hands on the game to say anything further about movement. My biggest concern right now is seeing the new fishing system, and whether or not us fishers will still be able to fish wherever we want and not just at nodes.
