2 Different Gear Sets = 2 Different Items > Terrible Idea

Either way... if we macro'd it would be just as easy, and we'd gain the benefit of not having the gear in our inventory. However, I see where your exasperation and worry come from and I agree... more then likely with player feed back, he will be left with the definite impression that we do not care for the system described in translation.

Will probably stick to macroing it for gear that doesnt have duplicate items.

Or. Have gearset that discludes the item you want to use in multiple sets, and just equip the extra items separately. Like if you have 5 crafting classes that all use the same armor, just equip tool and earrings separatly, and some other peices that arent the same.

Why add that step though? You know you're going to want to have the same items in multiple sets so why not have them do it right?

If they dont have it right by the time we are playing it, we can do it that way :P. But I am also for them getting it right as well.

They may have to allow more gearsets to get it done. Or when you save a gearset, you would have to un-equip the item(s) you want in other gearsets, select the new gearset, then equip it there as well and save.

Suggestion:

Keep *all* gear in an armoury section of your house, curated by an enthusiastic CACTUAR. When you select a given gear set from the menu in the field, your CACTUAR teleports your old gear back to your armoury and your new gear is teleported onto you.

You have to drop the gear off at your armoury for this to work, so gear on your person would still take up inventory space, worn or not (as it does at the moment), and this gear could still be equipped manually or by macro if necessary.

Your armoury is initially limited to a couple of dozen spaces, but can be increased through quests that are unlocked by levelling up in different classes and/or by crafted expansions to your housing, as mentioned.

Sigh..... of course, a moogle how original >.> I'd rather have something different, like a Cactuar.

only one solution makes any sense, each slot can hold 3 items per gear set, clicking slot opens sliding box with the 3 items. So you have a darklight gear set, but 3 different belts for instance, only need one rare/ex body. Or you have crafting set but can switch any slot to craft/magic craft/control (3) or DoL output/perception/gathering (3).

alternative: if they insist on one item per slot, we need to know that say a belt can be switched in/out from inventory and not hard linked into gear set one time only like i've seen in WoW (which would just plain suck).

p.s. guess i better store up enough HQ material to make multiple copies after 2.0 (don't have the inventory space now)
