Unfortunately you don't pay him for his snarky comments. He does pay a subscription though which gives him a sense of entitlement to post such comments.

You're paying to use their property, as pointed out in the Software License Agreement. Square-Enix can do whatever they want with their game, whether you like it or not. If that's a problem, you could always stop paying.

It's been like this ever since the SE forums opened up. 1.4, 1.4a, 1.4b, 1.5 1.6 1.7. I can't honestly say that I've had more thoughtful and insightful conversations than not here, which is sad because this is a "forum" supposedly lol.

I didn't find it awkward looking really, I was impressed. However, I agree with the guy who said don't do the whole "Its early, it will be polished" routine if there is something you see that you don't like. Too many of us did that prior to 1.0. If you have concerns make sure you express them.

As excited as I am for the potential of 2.0, trust needs to be earned back by SE. No more, "Its only beta I trust them to fix it by launch" excuses. They have lost the right to that trust. Lets just hope they are not egotistical like Tanaka's team where they refuse to accept criticism.
