I have no need for them. I use an actual piece of paper and pen if I want to make my own notes. I use a second monitor to display raidplans/strats. The market for in game strategy boards was always going to be very niche. What would actually be useful to many more people is if they had allowed the in game recorder to record all current raids/extremes. Many, many more people do not have the means to record content and replay it to see what is happening half the time and seeing what is actually happening is way more valuable than plan approximations.
They were added late in the expansion, are awkward to open during pulls and you cannot practice outside of them, individually cover one mechanic thus requiring multiple of them, and everyone already uses a second monitor/phone screen/post-it note/callouts, and they're not used in casual content and nobody on Crystal raids. Aside from that, they're useful.
I didn't raid this expac, but I did use them for the last 2 ex trial fights as "sticky notes".
I used physical sticky notes for E8S plastered around my monitor.
That being said, I have a feeling there's more people using them on widescreen monitors to limit clutter

I wish I could turn them off. It feels like a waste of mutelist space but its the only way to stop people spamming them at you every 2 seconds while someone is watching a cutscene.
