Only reason I bring up fan fest, to be fair, is that they also said we would see more in Berlin. I also think you have great ideas. The problem for me is the way its framed. "The more I look at this, its causing me concern", "This is where the trouble begins...". That is what is giving me the human resources vibe. And I mean ultimately, its just a tip but I would assume devs are more receptive to what this really is...its helpful suggestions (as in "Hey guys this looks good but what about x,y and z?). The devs made immense effort to shake things up and have a lot on their plate this year plus into patches, its discouraging when 90% of posts are deep concern with not even thanks.

So I will tell them. Considering all the updates, the show was impressive and thanks.

In this way, its not completely about your post and I have expressed this same sentiment elsewhere.

Also full disclosure I absolutely roast them on writing so I am not averse to feedback or even harsh feedback.

100%, it's what was shown so ofc I will assume what they show is atleast a sort of a direction they are trying to take it.

For me the "All >>" just looks like it's a statement of all the rewards this season and the ">>>>" would just take us to the next season which would be locked largely, but youre right it could be either one really.

Neither do I, the battlepass system is good, but I hope it tries to activate the player to do more things beyond trying to get higher item level faster.
As a concept it sounds great, but the way it's presented leaves alot to desire and I hope they take feedback on that seriously.

It would just feel a bit hollow as an alternative way to +1 gear.

That's how I usually got tomestones capped when I needed to for raiding. But without tomestones what's the reward for killing hunts in the world.
I think they said this will be overhauled too.

Anyways I think in terms of reward structure more will be done, this graphic they showed seems to be the most in the developement thing, so they'll probably be considering a lot of factors.

I don't think they're doing that. Largely tomestones will stay, but in addition to that we will get this new system that is based on player activity. So even if you don't do your dailys, youre still rewarded item level for doing other things in game.

But the thing is, for many item level is not the be all end all thing to chase, and with the item level synch to alt jobs it makes item level chasing even less of a priority don't you think?

So my mind heavily leans on the aspect that this Adventurer Activity has to provide something beyond item level for participating in it that isn't just those larger cosmetic rewards.

I really hope this new system doesn't have FOMO. All the items given in it should be available at all times in game after a season ends. No delays. No cash shop. Please, missing out is awful.

Since the main screen says: "Rewards update in 14 days" and also shows 8.0 -> 8.1 as a SEASON 1. This can only mean that there will be FOMO and they will push you to do these things. Otherwise why even say what Season you are on? Why even use a timer? Why even say "For Modern Audience" lmao.

It's very surprising considering that Yoship said how he wants ffxiv players to have freedom and not constantly play this game.

Well it turns out that those missing subs are piling up and the best solution is indeed a battle pass (that few people here wanted so much). Now you can no longer unsub but must constantly play if you want all those shiny rewards that are created to give you an incentive that you earned something.

Its fine as long as its like PvP where if you miss a season they will let you buy the stuff from a vendor at a later time. Frankly im tired of the game being designed around people 'not' playing the game and unsubbing for 3/4th of patches.

XIV already has a fomo battle pass. It just updated earlier this week even. The UI just isn't obnoxious so people act like it doesn't count.

You're making hard assumptions based on a visual mockup that wasn't even functional during the presentation and that's probably months old at this point...

The only concern I have is that the ability to fill it up through basically everything will result in longer queues for duties and roulette. I hope they find a balance with the point system.

Other than that it's imo simply better in all points.
No Tomestones, more things you can do, way better UI and at least from the screenshots the rewards look more interesting than some currency.
It's pointless to speculate before the second fan festival though because we don't know anything. This whole screenshot is a work in progress. The items there are probably just placeholers for now to show something.

And regarding all this Fomo talk... I don't know, same as with the pvp battle pass, you don't even need to log in daily to fill it up. That's not Fomo, it's simply playing the game you pay for.
