Another issue with the Savage loot system is that, in the end, it often feels pointless. It’s basically just another glamour set.
What do I mean by that? Well, the first time you enter a Savage fight, you obviously won’t have the raid-tier gear yet. You’ll be using slightly weaker gear. But if you manage to clear the fight with that gear, then getting the Savage gear afterward doesn’t really change much. It just makes future clears a bit more forgiving or allows you to skip certain mechanics.
Savage gear doesn’t actually unlock anything new. It isn’t required for any other content. And as soon as the next even patch arrives, it immediately becomes outdated.
So in many ways, the reward structure feels strange: you clear the hardest content to obtain gear that mainly helps you clear the same content more easily, until the next patch replaces it anyway.
And also, add to that the restriction where you can only obtain 1 drop per week. With 21 jobs, it's a weird choice. And it's not like it would change much, as you already clear the fight...
