7.41 was 2 weeks late. It's usually one month between patches. I'm guessing the Holidays and the savage delay caused it.
Either way we should hopefully expect 7.45 at the end of the month.
Remember, they didn't announce patch 7.41 until a few days prior.
Honestly I'm fine with waiting a little bit longer, I'm still working on some .4/.41 content.
I never understood the needs of having Alts in XIV. For me it's a complete non sense.
In Wow, where you had to make an alt to play a different class, I can understand. Or have a different race bonus.
In XIV, race doesn't give anything and doesn't limit jobs. You can play all jobs on a main. Super engaging content like relics are ok to do once, not twice. I wouldn't see myself redo the ishgard restoration.
If you need an alt because XIV is the only game that you want to play, then it shown how badly the game lack content if you have to do it on multiple alts...
For people like me who play only a main, there is very little to do right now... Yes, I play other game while I wait, but I find it stupid to have to pay a sub to a game that lack good content...
We should get a Lodestone announcement fairly soon. We just got 7.41 on the 27th of January. That's usually about a month before the x.45 patch. So either February 24th or March 3rd will probably be 7.45.
We already know from the last LL that 7.5 will come out shortly after the NA Fan Fest which is at the end of April. March 3rd would put 7.5 in a nice spot to be May 5th. They could do 7.5 on April 28th but the Fan Fest literally ends the weekend before that so it seems a little soon.
We usually see a week or two extra like this around the first of the year because of holidays so that's why 7.41 was a bit longer than a month.
I made an alt to experience MSQ again because I hate NG+ - no rewards, can't use summoning bell etc. I didn't bother with side content though.
And I fail to see how people wanting to make alts shows a "lack of game content." If anything, it means that MSQ (which takes hours, surely it counts as "content?") is so good that people want to experience it again...
Maybe refrain from posting for others next time. Just because you don't enjoy something doesn't mean that others don't... Heck I've been playing for 4 years (and a lot, as I can't find a job) and I still find things to do...
There are reasons to have an alt, but they aren't really ingrained in game as much as what it would be if it were restrictive, e.g., 1 class/job per character.. So it's more benefit-driven than need-driven..
But still beneficial, e.g., if doing raiding across multiple DCs (even just playing across multiple DCs), re-experiencing the story with friends you introduce, multiple repeats of weekly lockout, submarines etc.,
Some will also have alts inherited from HW when the game was a bit less conducive to doing everything on a single character (especially as a crafter since they had weekly capped scrips)
I wouldn't say it's indicative of a lack of content (though there is that), but I think if you're playing a lot on alts then I would say there's a case of not really being interested in the offering for the current expansion, which is where I fall (Was doing Eureka when Occult released, despite my main character having all Eureka relics)
Though I think Tiger is talking about alt jobs not alt characters, but this is just my perspective on alts in the way above..
It’s further aggravating that they changed around the points and credits when they implemented the gold bonus. It only took me a couple weeks or so on the Moon to grind out my GSM title. (Granted I did nothing else for those weeks!) I just finished my WVR title last night; it took MONTHS. I started off more casually with that one, going to Phaenna each day, doing my 3 crafts for the Stellar Success bonus, and then continuing with crafting missions and stopping for the day when I had enough credits for 5 wheel spins. On Oizys, even with the gold bonus, I’m getting less credits on the Superstar mission than I was getting on Phaenna pre-gold bonus, so the five wheel spins a day has been painful if I don’t get at least one Red Alert. Got down to my last 50k needed for the title and spent a week doing nothing but Cosmic, just for that 50k. Add to that, most of the recipes require over 15 steps, so if I want to macro, I have to use 2 buttons.
I like the drone treasure hunts, but I wish they had taken that a little further and maybe had some kind of field notes you could collect at the same time to learn more about the civilization that was there. The only thing I need from there is the new emote but I’m just filling up my inventory with stuff I already have that doesn’t sell well anymore.
OC not having a Normal mode for Forked Tower really killed that zone for me… and/or it really should’ve had 3 zones. I’ve already done these Fates/CEs so many times, and finding the motivation to go in and level the new Phantom jobs is a challenge.
I think like a lot of other people, some of the stuff I’m most looking forward to is stuck at the later patches: housing updates we were supposed to get earlier, BLU and BST and Variant dungeons. Especially the Variant dungeons… I’d love to see those get one per patch!
