Is Beastmaster an expansion feature at this point?

It has fallen into the "I'll believe it when I see it" section for me. 0 news means they aren't even thinking that maybe, MAYbe, that their customers are waiting for even just a sneak peek or an announcement of BST's release when it was announced before expansion dropped :shrug: 1000/10 customer service never seen elsewhere.

Because it's not a job, it's a side quest mini-game on the level of a late expansion patch, which are worked on while the main team is finishing the next expansion.

I honestly am a bit resentful of the community for encouraging Square to make more limited jobs.

It's coming in 7.5x, but they definitely shouldn't have advertised it as it's been a year and a half of this expansion and it's still not in the game. I don't think there's been anything even on how it's going to play or anything. All I know is that it's coming, eventually.

i guess they shouldnt announce stuff on fanfest if its scheduled for x.4 and later... but then they would have too little stuff to show for three fanfests xD

From what I've seen most of the playerbase doesn't. Nearly everyone agrees that having a job that can't interact with the game via normal means is a very bad idea

Unfortunately Squenix seems to look at that tiny portion that does like that and go "We've heard your overwhelming support and will do more like this."

What really grinds my gears is that there's plenty of room for both. Have totems provide DPS skills as you level to allow you to que for dungeons then allow for four checklists comprising of necessary skills to perform each role and a fourth that functions like Blue Mage does currently. The people that want to play normal Blue Mage will put in the effort, the game gets one new job for three roles, and the normal broken blue mage limited aspect is still there. Bonus, since so many skills are just essentially pallet swaps you have a job you can customize that will still be able to clear the bar.

They won't do it, though. Cbu13 really, REALLY likes to tightly control how the game plays and the idea of giving players that much freedom makes them break into hives.

Now that I think about it, we don't even know which DPS role it'll be filed under, melee or ranged.

It's been over 2 years since the announcement at FanFest, since then we haven't gotten any official information, only titbits in random interviews. We haven't even gotten concept art for it, instead they used the original BLU concept during the announcement.

If they had given us literally anything about it since announcement I could maybe understand making it so early. Even if it was just like, some details about what kind of limited job it’s going on and what it’s supposed to do? Like, what weapon will it use? Will abilities be from the monsters or the player themselves? Are the monsters actual pets or like Summoner’s summons (I hope it’s not the latter lol)? Will the content be combat/trial focused, or focused on hunting and capturing monsters, etc etc.

Of course, they can’t do that because people might make criticisms , so they’ll keep us in the dark until like two weeks before release, if that.

Like, anyone could be completely forgiven for having forgotten entirely that it was even announced; I certainly have a few times lol. SE has become the embodiment of that ‘go girl, give us nothing!’ Twitter meme

This is what you get when you let your game's dev think they can do anything and get away with it

No other game would be able to get away with delaying a headline feature for over 2 years with xpac droughts this long, the one time WoW did the game almost fully went down the drain. Fortunately for Square their gooner population is too loyal for their own good, and too proud to try a better MMO

It's been scheduled for 7.5 for some time now.
