do you mean actual trust as in the trust you level up or the scenario trust where we got to play with emet?
Zero and Ryne were added to actual trust but you dont level zero nor can you play her in any part other than after EW main story.
Ryne you could level (weirdly) - i thought maybe they were going to bring her to the story again which is why she was added to leveling trust but they never did.
They seem to link trust chars to the msq only so its doubtful as raiding is always an additional content. similar to how the alliance raids folk never get added.
tho they could have them as 'unlockable' characters or could link them for an achievement.
complete the raid X times normal mode and get them as a character to choose in Expansion end dungeons. they wouldnt show in alexander for example but maybe kicking heck out of a cactus :p
but thats another addition to something the playerbase is already upset over existing so unsure if anything other than the basic characters will ever be included
Trusts you level up.
That way, they don't need to be main story specific. Also, when you max out a trust character, you get Job Glamours to change how the effects of your abilities/job gauges look.
And it doesn't just have to be Arcadion it's just that those characters fit this idea very well. You could even include Clive or Noctis or Lightning eventually.
As I said before, I'd like it if they incorporated your squadron into the mix so instead of random adventurer NPCs (for at least 15-70) [Although I don't think those would have new unique job animations unless there was like just special Grand Company specific effects you could get to represent your GC if you wanted]
I think the trust system is cool but duty support kinda takes a bit of steam out of it.
If you made leveling up NPCs something with some sort of visual benefit to your character, people would be incentivised to do it.
I suppose arguments against from a development standpoint might be visual clarity? But it won't change your job icon or weapon, so it shouldn't be too drastic.
I'd definitely say Howling Blade could be your Sage. . . I did say he be a Wind Knight instead of a Dark Knight. In this case he'd be a Geo Sage.
And I was thinking that Deep Blue could be a Whitemage but with more water-based attacks, some fire, but his afflatus misery be an assist by Red Hot. And Red Hot could be a black mage, simply fire phase and "Ice" water phase
Not sure. Sugar Riot was set as a Machinist when she is *literally* a pictomancer in practice, only with spray paint, but because her weapon in the fight is an aerosol gun and doesn't fit the PCT's animation set, she was n MCH in cutscene, and she'd either play completely off from the Sugar Riot boss or have a ton of unique stuff built just for her. Seems kind of wasteful to me.
But, just adding more important NPCs to Trusts for us to play with could be fun. I was stunned Wuk Lamat is usable in every base DT dungeon but wasn't a Trust unit, even if only for DT content, like Ryne is for ShB. She even has her headdress as an alt outfit. (Although I'm sure a few are totally fine with keeping Estinien as a slot and just adding Krile, instead.)
So I guess my answer is just that more Trust units is good idea but I don't like the Arcadion characters enough over older MSQ staples like Hien or Aymeric to want the effort.
And we're likely to get a new character or two anyway in 8.0.
And let us use Y'shtola and/or Krile as a healer already since both are established as full capable of it.
I can see why some would want it, but not for me. I'm not a fan of those characters and would prefer them to stay as the Scions. But for those who want that it could be a nice optional choice
I think it be nice simply put to expand peoples options. Way I see it the Scions will always be our adventuring companions. Trust system as it is now allows us to mix and match more than you can with duty support.
I think that in line with that this will help Trust stand out more for people who really don't care to level their trusts. More unique NPCs and rewards which change player effects. I think that will be awesome for the game.
One day there will come a time when FF14 kind of becomes ultimately a single player game (this will be a sad day in many ways - but if we make the Trust system robust, then players will have companions no matter what)
I've actually been thinking that if the MSQ ends up moving in the direction of exploring more of the Ninth in the future, it would make sense for the WoL to recruit some of the Arcadion characters to the party for any forays out of the dome (Since most of the Scions + Estinien have gone off to do their own thing for now). They're all pretty strong and experienced fighters, and the WoL doesn't really know a lot of people in the area, so it would make sense to ask around at the Arcadion if they needed to make up numbers.
My main picks to take along would be:
Retsarra/HB (Melee DPS), because he actually tells you that he plans to travel outside the dome next time he's got time off, so he'd be the obvious first person to check with.
The Tyrant (Tank/DPS), because he's an experienced hunter and the strongest one of the bunch anywayand also because he's my favorite
Sugar Riot (Rng or Caster/Healer?) Because it could be valuable to her as inspiration for her art
Honey (Healer or caster?), maybe as material for her stream?
Any or all of the others would be great, too, it would be nice to just have the whole group in the pool but for example I could see Dancing Green declining to go, but maybe deciding to join temporarily if you were going to Lindblum because he was close to the President and wanted to see his home town? Or the BL bros (Who should count as one unit lol XD) joining you because your next destination was close to the ocean and they want to try dodging lightning while they do their stunts.
