The fact that you can walk from one city to another. That you can actually start in Ul'dah and walk/airship ride/boat ride all the way to S9. It's a tiny thing that most don't think on. But to me it makes the whole world feel connected. Are the air ship and boat rides like the ones in 11? Nah. Would the option for that be cool? Sure. But I just appreciate that you can just...walk from Ul'dah to Limsa with someone.

In my time away from FFXIV and trying other games, I've definitely come to appreciate the ease of access and how simple it is to download and play, as well as the transparency of paid services like the Mogstore and its relative separation from the content. A lot of the other games feel needlessly complicated just to get working and are in chronic need of an update, even the more legitimate and well-known titles, and it seems like they have transactions built into the fabric of the game to always try and get something out of you. The prices on the Mogstore are a joke, to be sure, but they don't make a point of shoving it in your face and for the most part, you progress through the game just by playing properly.

How little you need alts for anything, and can largely do everything on a single character, I detest the need to roll alts in other MMOs, it leads to me feeling scattered and unfocused, here, I can just build up everything in a single Auri pile, and that's the way I love it.

The UI and HUD has always been something that looked like parts of it were taken from an arcade. I.E. some of the bars, and also how a casting bar will flash the text "INTERRUPTED" when it gets interrupted. The little things like that that give it a certain tone and personality.

The music. I am a lover of music (Most genres), and the music in all zones, dungeons and raids, in cutscenes, and more. The music helps get me through rough patches IRL, and it always on my rotation

I really enjoy how each job MSQ differs and aactually has extra dialogue when you do certain side quests or main scenario. for example: The tear jerker that is DRK level 80 role quest. I still redo that quest now and then for that amzing music and cutscene
