While I'd love it, they probably wouldn't because they'd rather toss stuff like that into ultimate/relic.

You guys are so damn annoying.
You have the right to not enjoy the new sets, but saying it’s bad is complete bs. They’re detailed, colorful and creative.
And now we’re waiting the glam restriction to disappear. So my take on you is, you’re a 40yo dude whining like a baby because you’re not creative at all with the insane amount of possible outfits you can and will be able to make coming with next patch.

What were you expecting from an expac being “tropical”? Dark edgy spiky armours? Because that’s what you want I guess? Or more boring ugly modern looking sets? Genuinely what were you expecting from a world inspired by Aztec/Maya civilisation? On top of some FF9 fan service?
Stop acting like a spoiled kid and get creative.
This is so subjective. What is better? If you don't give any examples, descriptions, anything, how would a dev read this and go "Ah yes, I know exactly what to make that this player will love"?
For myself, I'd love to go back to more high fantasy stuff. We have tons of streetwear and modern stuff, but it looks like lately they always miss the mark with high fantasy because it's either too cartoony with the huge belt buckles and flat texturing (Historia) or it looks way too Soulsborne-esque with so many belts, frayed fabrics, potato sack-looking fits (Cryptlurker, Troia, Neo Kingdom and their variants). Something more tailored to the character's figure, some flowing fabrics here and there and polished metal details would be amazing. I really like the Hyuran Chemisette because it's simple and effective in its design, plus it looks amazing with the new graphics. Stuff like Alma's/Majestic Dress, Darbar, Euphosyne, Zormor are also very elegant in their design, the silhouettes are clean and your eye doesn't get lost in all the detail. I think less can be more sometimes! Less aggressive texturing also helps with pairing new and older gear together, since older gear is much flatter in comparison and looks plain bad if you have a super textured pair of pants and a flat top.
Mystic Memory is kinda pushing it for me, but overall the designs are really fun and I'm looking forward to wearing them more when glams are unlocked. The new glams pictured in the patch site (I'll try to link it below, the picture is fighting me for some reason) are the level of detail that I really enjoy. The details are crisp and polished but it's not overbearing, even when the style of the gear itself isn't really my jam. This is Dark Horse but better in my eyes lol

I think you are wasting your breath here.
This whole topic is a temper tantrum over something subjective and OP behaves like a bully back in 90's school with his "white knight" comment.
There will always be people who dislike the look of gear while others like it.
Personally I think DT had some of the best looking gear with the Mystic and Yuwayewata sets being very high. My only complaint is that too much dungeon gear is not dyeable.
That's not just due to the new textures but also the new DT material system, because the old gear pieces weren't updated.
We basically have two different material systems for how gear dyes now, the old legacy one and the new DT one. This means there is a clear disparity between how old gear dyes and how the new gear does even when using the same dye colours, which is especially jarring on any metal pieces.
Granted this was already an issue before, a lot of the ARR levelling plate armour looks like plastic as soon as you dye it, the graphics update just added another layer.
