That would make the most sense. Probably won't be the only region we visit though, since it doesn't seem to be big enough to be divided into 6 areas. So I wonder if there're going to be any areas that aren't readily seen on the map, like the Moon or Living Memory.

This is a big deception to me.

My guess is the most obvious one. It's going to be another shard, I think they half-confirmed that some of the patch content if not more will be the 9th shard?

I'm personally annoyed that the interviewer said "Tekken" of all games to make a collaboration.

Indeed, exploring the 9th and learning about the key. It's very suggestive of visiting another shard unless we are instead just gonna merge them into the source, effectively doing what the Ascians were.

Although, we should be careful of that being a red herring as well. We explored the 13th in Endwalker patches and that had nothing to do with the next expansion. Garlemald was heavily teased in Stormblood patches but had nothing to do with the next expansion. However, Shadowbringers patches and Heavensward patches clearly built up to their respective expansions, so perhaps we are due for it not being a red herring this time round.

well they mentioned that they have planed out far ahead of where they are now I have made it pretty clear IDC for 7.x but I remain hopeful and say let them cook hopefully when we do get the area the warring triad and alex raids become mandatory :D

Kind of seemed it would be heading that way since there's multiple references to events happening in Meracydia of late.
Then again, i guess it's never too early to foreshadow...

This narrows it down quite a bit though. Could we possibly getting an expansion where we revisit and expand upon known areas? Moving into new chapters with familiar places and faces? That could be something.

This was pointed out in another thread, but YoshiP will never be able to answer truthfully of where we are going in 8.0 about any location. He could give the same exact answer if someone asked him if we were going to The Ninth in 8.0. We can't actually know until the first announcement at Fan Fest in April.

Another shard also seems kind of obvious, it's going to have to be a really weird shard or something nobody is expecting like an Ivalice expansion.

I wanna explore a new shard have new characters too that would be cool thanks.
