The Buff cap needs either extended, or ideally removed.

The boss buff/debuff bars are slightly weird. They have a cap of 60 effects they can have on them at one time, however, it only shows the first 30. If your DoT happens to land in that second half, it's effects will still be applied, but you just cannot see them. If you refresh DoTs before they fall off, it just refreshes the timer, so they stayed hidden. If, however, you let the DoT fall off, you could reapply it and, if there was an 'empty' slot in the first 30, it would end up there and be visible again.

To my knowledge, the 'only show my DoTs' worked the same way. If your DoT happened to be in the first 30 on the list, it got displayed, of it was in the last 30, it wouldn't display, even if you had the option enabled (though I could be misremembering on that part).

Technically, the debuff cap is 200 (or was it 300?) but only on certain enemies (mostly Alliance raid bosses and Field Operation bosses do not necessarily count as such). The part about showing only 30 is true.

They increased it somewhere during ShB iirc and should be in one of the patch notes.

Just remove a lot of the generic raid buffs at this point, does adding your generic 5% "everyone does more damage every 2minutes" buff mean anything when most jobs have this sort of buff... It's at this point more unique to not bring any damage buffs.

Ideally it would be raised still just in case, but the core issue is that we just have too many buffs in the first place.

Added to the long list of "problems WoW had back in the day but is already solved now"

I remember back in Heavensward being unable to Dreadwyrm Trance because my dots wouldnt apply to alliance raid bosses so my Festers would miss. But there are so few dots in the game now that I don't tihnk it would really be a problem if they brought some dots back.

I remember this, too.

I also remember DoTs vanishing was an issue with the Odin and Behemoth FATES in particular since so many players would be participating. Even if 300 is the cap, 50-is players would smash right past that. It was often best to go as a White Mage and spam Medical 2 since that built aggro reliably.

We actually don't have many "just give 5%" more damage buffs that are generic. The only one really we have that fits that description is astro. Basically every other raid buff gives something in return to the caster of said buff or does something besides a straight damage increase. It also doesn't help with the core issue of there being a buff cap in the first place and that in more and more content it becomes... annoyingly pertinent for certain classes.
