Everyone seemed to buy that horrible Azeyma set which was overpriced and ugly. So i'm sure a lot of people have no problem buying this one either :)
I own pretty much every cash shop outfit but the price for this one is outrageous. In comparison, the Street attire also offered an alternate top at half the price.
I think split offers are fine if the sets are appropriately priced and when it makes sense splitting them. Here, they deleted four polygons off of the back of the body gear piece and they're trying to sell it as a completely different piece. What they should have done is bundle the body, arms, head, shoes and BOTH of the legs gear pieces into one bundle and offered it for the same price as the Street attire (i.e. half the price of what it currently is).

Are you kidding me?
This new "optional item" set's monetisation is not only egregious and insulting to the current playerbase.
It sadly only comes as the latest iteration in a long line of extremely disrespectful, consumer-hostile practices by the people managing the Online Store.
Full price of 18 USD / 15 GBP / 13.5 EUR for two VARIANTS of the SAME top and the SAME bottoms ??? ( open back top / cropped slops vs closed back top / long trousers )
Gloves and head sold separately at half the price of the "full" bundle and Viera/Hrothgar CAN'T even wear the hat ??
The set labeled "cropped slops" gives you (for 18 usd)
- open-back variant of the top
- cropped slops variant of the bottoms
The set labeled "trousers" gives you (for another 18 usd)
- the same top as the first, but with a closed back
- the same pants as the first, but long trousers instead
Meaning there is no way to mix & match variants unless paying 2 times the full price already. And if that were not disrespectful enough... the set's gloves + hat are sold separately, at half-price (6 usd) and Viera/Hrothgar can't even wear the hat, meaning it's really 6 usd just for a pair of gloves.
UPDATE : As if this all somehow were NOT disrespectful enough, here comes the problem of the GLAMOUR DRESSER.
Attempting to store one of the item sets inside the GD at this point in time REQUIRES YOU TO HAVE THE FULL SET (hat+top+gloves+pants+boots) for EACH variant.
Meaning you have to buy the gloves and hat TWICE if you want to store both variant sets.
For maths : 18 usd x 2 for the top/bottom variants PLUS 6 usd x 2 for the gloves/hat means you'd be paying 48 USD total for the actual complete set, unless you like simply being barred from storing items sanely in the glamour dresser I guess !
In comparison, the recently released Woodland Warden and Street Attire sets were a sizeable price but for a FULL set that came with BOTH variant parts when there were any (2 different bottoms for Woodland, 2 different top & bottom for Street)....
An inferior release, players should not buy this nor gift it. Not only that, this also highlights the cruel limitations of the glamour dresser at this time because you cannot store a full set as is with all its variant items, you must make separate copies of the set for each variant (Summer items and Island Sanctuary item sets are extremely are guilty of this). It's unacceptable no matter how you frame it.
To add insult to injury, this optional item's release comes literal DAYS after the latest Producer Liveletter where the producer Naoki Yoshida was talking at length about how content had to be cut in Dawntrail's development because of budgeting issues, which was already a hard thing to hear in many viewers. A lot of the talks was also about "regaining the players' trust" and invited the players to give Square Enix the chance to prove they have good things in store for us all.
This is not "good things". This is the opposite of good things. It's extremely backwards, and only highlights Square Enix's continued blatant contempt for the playerbase of FF14 as well as betraying our trust, once again.
Whichever side of SQX is responsible for these decisions should be ashamed of themselves and MUST do better than this moving forward.
What is this? It's $42 dollars for the entire set!! What is SE thinking!

- "This head gear will not be displayed when equipped by Hrothgar or Viera characters."
You had this all going for them, and right now you could have worked on making it usable for Hrothgar and Viera.
But apparently not.

Shame on you, SE.
Usually I don't care about the cash store but this is one instance where I think pricing is too egregious. £11.16 per top and bottom variation plus £3.60 for the hat and gloves. That's a total of £25.92 for SEVEN items which form two largely identical sets. This should really be £15-18 for all the items as a single purchase. The choice to sell the items as three separate purchases for that price is wild and doesn't help manage community discourse, especially after some of Yoshi-P's comments during the recent live letter.
not actually 42$ it's worse
it's 48$ total if you want to store it in the glamour dresser, because you need to have the hat+gloves when storing each variant set for the top/bottom
so you need to buy the gloves/hat twice too.
it's insulting really.
If you really need the top, just go for the Anemos Suspenders and dye them.
For anything else, well ... when you know, you know.
