New 2.0 Inventory Space

80 Actually, same as the single retainer you could get. They've stated that there would be a system for gear so it wouldn't suck up your entire inventory, Mannequin System I think it was.

Someone else mentioned a bag of holding type thing for crafting items, I have not heard anything about that.

The saved gear sets for each class/job (manaquin system) not taking up any inventory space is way better. That will save a ton of space from your inventory and retainers.

Yeah, inventory is getting reduced back to 100, but due to the fact that gear sets won't take up inventory space anymore, it'll even out. I'm pretty sure a good half or so of my inventory is always being taken up by equipment as it is now.

all of this is just speculation until SE makes official statement regarding this issue.

I just wished 2.0 came with way better space management. I'll use example from Mass Effect series, I remember ME1 being tad cumbersome with me having to manage spaces constantly. Fail to do this and player might miss some great loots.
Seems the developer takes this into consideration, and thus player don't have to worry about space management starting from ME2.

Elder Scroll series also has unique inventory system which allow players to fill their spaces with junks which impacts the weight than hinders their speed movement. Not really a bad system since @ least player won't miss important loots.

Current FF14 inventory system kinda reminds me of most dungeon crawler themed RPGs, tho the one game I can think close enough is Dragon Age Origin which has their own version of backpack and retainer. Not a really good inv management if I say so, tho luckily there are some unofficial mods that allow to have infinite space.

Not that I hate that system, it's just that this game makes spaces can really hinder my progress. Tho I suspect many might disagree with me. ;D

It's not like we're guessing here, it's all pulled from statements Yoshi has made in the past. Word straight from Yoshi is official enough for me.

I was actually thinking that the part that says "gear sets" below the character outline has more to do with the mannequin system. Tough to say for sure how exactly it fits into the UI without seeing more though.
