I would like to see Physick upgraded by a SMN trait to be more useful too. Of course it should scale off Intelligence even as an Arcanist, but I think it would be neat if the heal granted other party members a 30 second buff called "Reflect" and this would allow the Radiant Aegis Shield to be applied to them if used within the window. This would add a minor element of tactical planning to SMN that the job is sorely missing. If someone is taking so much damage you think Physick is needed than an extra shield is probably in order too. Being able to give it to multiple people in an emergency like both tanks for a dual tank buster after a healer death would be niche but fun. Spamming Physick in downtime to prepare the shared shield could be a real thing. Most of all it ties Reflect as an ability to Carbuncle and that throwback to the original summon usage makes me happy. As a later upgrade you could even make Physick reduce the cool down on Radiant Aegis by 5 seconds at level 50. Then for each expansion afterward increase the cool down reduction by one second as a trait upgrade. So 6 seconds in Heaven Ward, 7 in Stormbloob, 8 in Shadowbringers, etc. until it's a 10 second reduction in Dawntrail.

It's still a relevant heal at low level (petering off around the 35-40 mark where it's still not useless) which is nice for dungeon runs where your healer is a sprout and isn't as confident in keeping the tank alive. The reason it scales off mind is because it's not a SMN ability, it's an ACN one. Which branches into SCH, a healer. If they could cut it without imploding both jobs in their scotch-taped together 2.0 code they would've done it by now.
It's not integral to the SMN kit in any way, but it isn't completely useless 100% of the time. I even saved someone last raid tier with it, they survived a raidwide with ~200HP after I used it on them a couple times. Is that going to come up often? No. But it did. Much like the damage on SCH/SMN's autos it's almost vestigial, but isn't entirely useless and can make the difference between a wipe and a clear. It also heals a reasonable amount in Eureka with elemental gear which makes it semi-useful for soloing.
Just slap it on a tertiary bar for emergencies, it won't bite. Not like SMN has a whole lot of buttons to begin with. -

After all, we have different versions of rez for the four healers, plus RDM’s Verraise. And with Lux, they’ve shown that SMN can have a strong heal based off its own stats, however inconvenient the availability of it is.Quote:

And I will echo my old thoughts on it to CBU3: Fix physick. Either a trait that grants it int+mind scaling, or after summoning a relevant summon (phoenix and now lux-bahamut) it grants stacks that let you heal for a higher and greater value with physick. -

The stupid thing about it now though, is that back when that happened, Egi's still had HP so we needed it to heal them. Though why they put physick rather than sustain back i still dont know. Currently though, I think it should just go. Its utility, but to be honest, unless its there for job flavour, (like red mage) personally should just be removed. Same with the AoE heal we get from Shit Bahamut. Its hardly ever useful, so would be better if it wasnt there at all.Quote:
