Playing was much more fun with Novice Network Chat

Make friends and/or join an FC.

The lack of a general or world chat really diminishes the feeling of playing an online game, and the Novice netwrok is limited to 500 people.

There are linkshells and the like. And you can always rejoin the novice network as a Mentor.

Or just talk to people. Hang out at the aetherytes be friendly to people.

My friends list is full and it's all just random people I met in my travels.

It all starts with a "Hey your glam looks good" or a /dote... or a "Cool mount" Or just being social.
I know the double edge of FF14 is how isolating it can be by yourself but the social aspect is there for you. Just... be social.

yea no. it will get riddled with all kinds of bad apples. Most times NN can be just as bad and toxic as other games with a world chat feature that thrive on toxicity, though thats depended on world you are on. Yes even mentors can be toxic as hell.
