This is not a savage tier fight much less a savage floor 3 fight. That's a gross exaggeration. What new mechanic exists in this raid that we haven't seen for 6+ years? Towers, spreads, pairs, donut aoes.... these are not intricate mechanics at all.
Also, it is on par with an EX Trial, very similar to something like Rubicante EX but closer to Thordhan/ Shinryu EX. Hell, if you did E9N, you pretty much know everything major about P2. The problem is more so that people expected this to be very similar to a normal alliance raid where you can shut off your brain 100% of the time and expected this would only be a 95% of the time situation. That's completely on the playerbase.

I say this as a current savage raider and ultimate progger.

All due respect, it's also an encounter well over a decade old which has very very little substance to it, just a few beams and comets for Cloud of Darkness. There would still have been merit in producing something more refined to Level 100 (Sitting at the area of BA difficulty) as an entry point into Chaotic. Especially since the game is already notoriously lacking

It takes its assets and themes but its new. Not even OG cloud sucked this much.

What a surprise, all the usual savage raiders that seem to live in this game are coming out to shout this thread down.

Calling chaotic 24 man content for professionals is laughable.

It feels like this content was made purely for streamers and their ultimate / savage raider friends.

I said this in another thread but the issue isn't the mechs, its the amount of ppl that is expected to do some of these mechs with no mistakes. In normal content(savage and Exs) organizing 8 ppl and making sure ALL of them know the mechs is pretty easy. With this tho you have 3x as many ppl and that increases the odds of mistakes A LOT. The main issue is towers and looming, from what I gather these are the two things that lead to wipes a lot. Imo these two mechs are way to punishing for 24 ppl and is what keeps this content from being mid-core. Tell me, what EX fight has 3 different raidplans? This alone is causing issues because you exported to learn 3 different way to deal with mechs...I don't know about you but I don't ever remember an EX having so many ways to do mechs and requiring ppl to learn those ways depending on the PF they join.

I also add that IMO mid-core content is content you can hope in at all times, prog, and clear in the evening. From what I have been hearing the only players who clear this fight in one evening are mostly just hardcore raiders(talking about streamers like Mr happy mostly) while others are taking days to clear it. Btw a lot of hardcore raiders are also saying this fight is around first or 2nd floor-savage levels of hard. I have yet to hear a streamer call this fight around EX which is what the fight was supposed to be. Yoshi P said that CARs are supposed to be around EX levels but this fight was clearly rise above that.

Overall I agree with those who are saying this fight is harder than an EX and is more aimed at savage raider rather than mid-core players(those who need content a lot more right now than savage and ultimate players). I agree that mechs themselves are not hard but what is hard is the two mechs I talked about combined with the fact you have 3x more ppl who need to know what they doing. That is what makes the fight harder than an EX in my mind. If there were fewer towers or the missed towers just put a bleed on ppl and mistakes in looming were easier to recover from, then I agree with you that this fight is around EX levels.

i feel like... people see this as a battle of Extreme VS Savage VS Casual

how i see it is very different... this content was ment to bring people together and assist eachother
yet if you PF this... my blacklist has never filled so fast with Jerks and toxicity
people are kicking First timers, and first timers are now kicking experienced people...

Experienced people only give a damn about the reward
And the new people don't want to give the rewards to those people...

Like what the actual... is going on with this?

i like the difficulty, but for the sake of not having the community eat eachother alive, this content has to be made slightly easier
so that more people can walk in and enjoy it, i could host it as an FC event, or just take a bunch of people and teach them, my entire FC hates this fight thanks to the overwhelming amount of toxicity in PF
sure "go learn a guide" or the "just get good scrub" are valid opinions, but it will not by any means give a nice experience.. rather it'll make you want to just quit that content entirely

and those complaining about "does it have to be a 1 pull 1 clear blind run?" of course not, you could make a punishment system like Bozja...
Twiceruin or Thriceruin, or make it so that if you die to much your reward might get lowered, easy right?
if your not the best, well you still get rewarded
if you give it your all and spend many many hours perfecting it, you get a bigger reward
instead we get...this, anyway... this is my yapping opinion on the matter, fight is still nice just not... enjoyable in PF

Rewards aside, i just think it is a huge missed opportunity.

Yep, fully agreed. And I think it's time for the rest of us to realize that Final Fantasy XIV is no longer for us. You will say that EX and Chaotic is easy enough, and if we can't do it, we're bad players, and we just want to "shut off our brain". That's fine, and I agree with that. But you know what you forgot? Your criticisms have no effect on us if we're no longer here. Just because we're bad at FFXIV doesn't mean we're bad people. We can play something else. And given the latest numbers, it seems that hundreds of thousands of players are doing just that. FFXIV has its lowest subscriber count in five years. And you won't think that's an issue. That's fine. How about its lowest subscriber count in six years? Seven? Eight? How far back do you want to go? You probably don't care, but when your friends leave the game (assuming you have any)? Then you will care. And don't look at us when you're upset. You did this yourself.
