I'd love that for playing with my hubby. He just does MSQ. He doesn't play nearly as much as I do and sometimes has problems with Duty Support runs. So I end up dragging him through MSQ dungeons on the alt I play with him as a healer. It would be nice if we could pair up with a couple of NPCs just for his story. I remember when EQII added mercenaries that you and a friend could bring your mercenaries to group content to go through it together. And I think WoW's version does allow you to fill with NPCs, so it's something XIV might at least take a look into.
As a software engineer, though, I can imagine there are possibly coding constraints that make it something that would not have the sort of return on investment that management might think is worthwhile to do.

Unironically, go make friends and join an fc worth spending time with.
But why this isn't actually a feature yet is beyond me. Seems like common sense at this point.

also the other problem is most people are easily offended so if you say something wrong you get banned from the game or banned from the group or FC you are in. Like I joined a decent FC and I asked the warrior to use more mitigation other then bloodwhetting and I got removed like I didn't knew I was playing with kids.
but I do agree with partial trust would be good because well offending people is easier even sometime you don't even know you did

The insights are really great, but I'd really be interested to see how many people would like the option as opposed to why it wouldn't work logistically.

Just adding my support for this. When Trusts were announced my wife and I were disappointed to discover that it was not simply a "fill in the empty player slots with AI" option.
Parties of one, two, or three players with AI options for empty party member slots should definitely be where the Trust system is at.

Love this partial trust proposal.
I would like to practise dungeons/trials with my wife only.
