BLM 5% buff isn't enough

I mean it should absolutely be doing more than a job with an aoe shield and an indom.

Though the big issue is how it still kinda feels like ass to play

To all the fellas saying "but its only like a 2% difference" you are missing the point.

Black Mage with zero native utility other than Addle performs for less than Pictomancer which has a group-wide damage buff, a group-wide shield on a 90s CD and an AOE heal during burst. It is also significantly more difficult / punishing to play than Pictomancer.

Completely ignoring the melees, Black Mage is being grossly outperformed in every category in its own role (Caster). It doesnt matter if its 2%, 5% or 1% - it is less than the non-raise utility caster.

BLM requires more effort than its worth damage wise. Its just easier to play another job really.

Not sure why people find this confusing. BLM was doing crazy DPS in EW after buffs. I remember distinctly arguing for the buffs and people told me me no, that it would destroy the game. Yet as we saw, BLM usage barely increased and SMN still pretty much dominated (at the time). People will not flock to BLM based on DpS. But the will flock to an easier job as long as it does enough DPS to clear, and bonus points for utility/res.

Mao agrees. Main problem is that BLMs now more rigids and nots flexibles enough to lets players enjoy DT fights. This requires more fixings than just uppings potencies little bits. EW design was MUCH more flexibles and could has handled DT fights.

All I see here is RDM/SMN and the phys ranged need love. Machinist is really going through it there.
